ABOUT ME
My name is Shelby Matthews and I began sharing my food with my family and friends....
My love for cooking and food began in my early twenties when I worked for a small cooking school in Chicago, and I was so intrigued and inspired that it was then that I started cooking for my family and friends. I found so much joy in the light in people's eyes when they ate something that I created. I am completely self taught, but it comes naturally to me...so I continued to share my love and creativity with all whom surround me.
I had a few dinner parties where I gave instruction during my cooking...and so began Shell Bee's Kitchen. I am passionate about only the best and most local and seasonally fresh ingredients which help guide me easily in the kitchen. I now do private dinner parties with or without instruction and for fun I make bee.BOARDS (artfully created cheese and charcuterie boards and boxes) on the weekends. I live with my husband and our two children in our rebuilt river cottage along the Severn River...I cook, teach, create, sip wine...and I LOVE IT.
